Due to overwhelming response (Thanks TechNavers!), we've put together the camera hands-on video for the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom. Granted, the version that we have is still very much a work in progress as OIS or Optical Image Stabilization has been deactivated and you can't save it as RAW (which is a feature that ASUS says it will have), but we did put the dual pixel camera sensor through its paces. We were pleasantly impressed and are looking forward to how it will perform when we get the full version but do check it out for yourself.

Not only is the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom the first Zenfone to have a dual rear camera but it also marks a number of other firsts including the first Zenfone to pack in a 12MP dual pixel rear camera sensor. ASUS certainly has made an impression at the CES 2017 last week, showing off the latest dual camera smartphone Zenfone 3 Zoom. In case you missed it, the Zenfone 3 Zoom works similar to the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, just that it has a 2.3x magnified option before zooming in digitally. Not much information was shown at the event, not even the price until today that is.

Dual sensor cameras are currently dime a dozen, and as more companies are starting to come out with new products featuring these sensors, new standout features needs to be incorporated to make them stand out from the crowd. Take ASUS for example. Their latest ZenFone 3 Zoom, the successor to the original Zenfone Zoom, is now official – featuring dual sensors and a really huge battery.

So it's official, on 4 January 2017 at CES, ASUS will announce some brand new devices and even released a teaser video about it, mentioning "incredible exploration without limitations." and nothing else.

ASUS has always been in the forefront of trying new technologies in their products. One of the memorable products (but maybe a bit flawed in certain situations) is the ASUS Zenfone Zoom. We actually reviewed the smartphone, right here. Now we may see an update to this smartphone, in the form of the Zenfone 3 Zoom.

As ASUS continues to churn out their ASUS ZenFone 3 iterations, rumours from a reliable Mr. Anonymous has appeared stating that we may see the ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom and ASUS ZenFone AR in Q1 of 2017. According to this Mr. Anonymous, the ZenFone 3 Zoom will have dual rear cameras with one of them being a telephoto lens with more than the 3x optical zoom that the original ZenFone Zoom had (probably 5x). It will ditch the Hoya lens system though and probably use a Snapdragon 821 processor with 4GB to 6GB RAM tech specs.

Released nearly a year later after its initial announcement, the final form of the ASUS ZenFone Zoom ZX551ML offers the world's thinnest 3x optical zoom cameraphone, but more than that it is the culmination of all the major elements that made up the ASUS ZenFone 2 series. Combining 4GB of RAM and the most powerful Intel Atom processor on a ZenFone with laser autofocus and the aforementioned 3x optical zoom, the ZenFone Zoom is technically the ultimate ASUS ZenFone 2 smartphone of the bunch. Let's take a look at the ASUS ZenFone Zoom, a smartphone that packs in a 13 megapixel Panasonic sensor with a variable f/2.7-4.8, 28-84mm (3x optical zoom). It's best external feature is the dedicated shutter button and video recording button. It is also by far the most premium looking design compared to ASUS previous model with a price tag of RM2099. ASUS also claims that it is the thinnest cameraphone at 12mm thickness, do check out the tech specs and video below for more details!

Last weekend, ASUS Malaysia held a fitting send-off for their wildly popular ASUS ZenFone 2 range of smartphones with the Zoom to the Max media retreat showcasing the capabilities of their latest models, namely the ASUS ZenFone Zoom and ASUS ZenFone Max. Both offer fairly unique features with the Zoom utilizing a twin periscope inner lens design to be the world's thinnest optical zoom equipped cameraphone while the Max offers a whopping 5000 mAh battery with energy-efficient hardware that lets it charge other devices. Malaysia's media gave both ZenFones a run for their money at the event.
While the RM2099 priced ZenFone Zoom and RM799 (RM100 off of the initial RM899 pricing) priced ZenFone Max were the highlight of the event, the rest of the gang like the ZenFone Go, ZenFone Selfie, ZenFone 2 Laser and ZenFone 2 Deluxe ROG edition were also on hand. All are currently available in Malaysia.
